Storytelling venues in Amsterdam
Mezrab
- Overview: Mezrab is an artistic hub, featuring some of the most professional storytellers in Amsterdam. It is a very friendly place that draws people from all backgrounds.
- Type of Stories: A very diverse set of stories, ranging from personal stories, to fairy tales, to poems. As the stories on Wednesdays and Fridays are, usually, not reviewed by the organisers, each story is very unique in structure, style and quality.
- Dates: Every week between Wednesday and Saturday. On Wednesdays, Mezrab hosts an open mic night where you can sign up to share your story. Just send an email to openstage@mezrab.nl and you're good to go.

Echt Gebeurd
- Overview: Echt Gebeurd is the Dutch version of the famous, U.S. story slam "The Moth". To get an idea of what kind of stories to expect, we recommend checking out the Echt Gebeurd podcast.
- Type of Stories: Stories are, usually, personal accounts on a given topic (e.g. "love"). The storytellers will be coached by the Echt Gebeurd organisers prior to the event, causing the stories to be similar in structure, but also, guaranteeing a certain quality.

The storytelling for Leaders Program
Are you wondering where you can improve your storytelling skills in Amsterdam?
If you’re interested in “Personal Storytelling”, Mezrab is a fantastic venue. They offer regular weekend courses for beginners and more experienced storytellers.
If you’re more interested in “Business Storytelling”, we recommend checking out our upcoming Storytelling for Leaders Program. Every few months, we start a new 8-week program, in which we work with a small group of leaders. Over the course of a few workshops and 1:1 coaching, we help participants discover the storyteller that is within each one of us.
By the end of the program, participants know how to use stories to inspire their teams, build more meaningful relationships and stand out from the rest.
